16 NPA members, surrenders to Surigao del Norte cops

Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDNPPO) – Over the year, police authorities in Surigao del Norte have been encouraging members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) to return themselves to the government. Fifteen of them surrender, bringing their firearms.
Based on the records from the Provincial Operations Management Unit (POMU), since January of this current year, the 16 active New People’s Army (NPA) members have voluntarily surrendered from the different police units of this province. Twelve from Guerilla Front 16 of Northeastern Mindanao Regional Command, while three came from Guerilla Front 19.
Out of the 16, nine surrendered to our Surigao del Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit; three to Alegria Municipal Police Station MPS). Two CTG members turned themselves to Bacuag, one submitted to Surigao City Police Station, and one, on December 23, to Claver MPS.
Provincial Director Police Colonel Laudemer M Laude revealed that of the 16, there were two female CTG members surrendered. Alias Kaira/Femfem turned herself to Alegria MPS on August 30, 2022, while alias Chacha offered her surrender to Bacuag on March 11, 2022.
As these NPA members return to our government, they also surrender their firearms. There were six rifle grenades, three units of Caspian .45 caliber pistols, one unit of M16 rifle, one unit of .38 revolver, one unit of a homemade shotgun revolver, and one magazine loaded with four pieces of ammunition.
These surrendered CTG members are now availing of the province’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
