2023 New Year Generally Peaceful at Surigao del Norte

(SDNPPO) Surigao del Norte – As Surigaonons embraced the year 2023 with a generally peaceful New Year’s Eve. Lower units reported a notable decline in incidents. Firecrackers and pyrotechnics have caused zero injuries and there is zero illegal discharges of firearms in the province.

Provincial Director Police Colonel Laudemer M. Laude revealed the resounding safer New Year’s Eve celebration in the province because of the early preparation by PNP Surigao del Norte. —working closely with the local government units and partner agencies to enforce security measures and ensure the safety of the holiday season.

Based on the reports of the Provincial Operations Management Unit (POMU), as of 8:00 AM, January 1, 2023, there were no recorded firecracker-related injuries or incidents of stray bullets.

More importantly, the public has been made aware of their responsibilities and the risks of overwhelmingly celebrating the holiday,” PD Laude said.
