Call for Filmmakers!

Good news to young filmmaking enthusiasts of Surigao del Norte!
Subject Story Pictures and the Fraternal Order of Eagles are holding the “An Pagbangon nan Surigaonon Inter – High School Documentary Film Competition” to mark the 1st Anniversary of Typhoon Odette in the Province of Surigao del Norte. This contest is open to all groups of high school students of Surigao del Norte composed of four members (director, scriptwriter, videographer and video editor) per group.
“An Pagbangon nan Surigaonon Inter – High School Documentary Film Competition” is a holistic approach in molding our youth to be socially responsible, aware and critical thinking citizens, at the same time making optimal use of our technology and learning competencies in the classroom, all the while celebrating Surigao del Norte’s ‘pagbangon.’ More than being a contest, this undertaking also boasts of a one-day Basic Digital Video Production Training/Seminar to be conducted to all confirmed participants by no less than the renowned producer/director, Direk Lui Villaruz of Subject Story Pictures, as a pre-production activity before the contestants actually start the filmmaking process.

Interested participants must coordinate with their School Principal for proper endorsement and must submit on or before Nov. 25, 2022, 11:59pm the accomplished Application Form. All group participants are guaranteed to receive at least P5,000.00 plus certificates while the group winner for Best Film will receive P30,000.00 plus certificate. All winners will also receive a film-making workshop and trip to Siargao Island for the Awarding Ceremony.
