General Luna conducts Municipal Tourism Development Planning
The Department of Tourism (DOT) Caraga Region, headed by Regional Director Ivonnie B. Dumadag, EnP, CESE, is in close collaboration with the Local Chief Executive of the Municipality of General Luna in Siargao Island, Hon. Sol F. Matugas, MPDC Catherine Ravelo and LGU Consultant Maya Bañez for the Formulation of the Municipal Tourism Development Plan (MTDP) of General Luna.
The DOT Caraga Region thru the Tourism Policy Formulation and Planning Program provided technical assistance for the formulation of the Municipal Tourism Development Plan of General Luna. Phase 1 of the series of planning workshops runs from February 27 to March 1, 2023, facilitated by Resource Speaker, Ms. Mary Jean Camarin, Phd, ENP.
The planning workshop of Phase 1 focuses on the major elements and basic concepts in Tourism Development Planning including tourism statistical data available in the locality which is deemed vital in the planning process. The composition of the Municipal Tourism Planning Committee shall also be created during the activity.
A series of activity will be conducted to complete the six (6) phases required for the Formulation of the MTDP of General Luna, Siargao Island until June 2023.
