NIA CARAGA Turnovers P12M Irrigation Project to the Farmers

As support to the administration’s agenda to focus on providing assistance to the farmers to increase their production and eventually increase their income, the San Mateo Small Irrigation Project with a total cost of P12 million for CY2019 and CY2021 allocations was formally turned over to the San Mateo Subait Irrigators Association by the National Irrigation Administration-Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands (NIA-ASDI) at Barangay Covered Court, San Mateo, Butuan City.
In order to provide irrigation services to 80 farmer beneficiaries over a total service area of 100 hectares, the project was carried out through Contract and Force Account Works (FAW), which consists of protection works, canalization, and structures.
Engr. Dexter A. Sablaon, NIA ASDI IMO Division Manager, together with its personnel, Engr. Rosalina B. Caiña, NIA Caraga Regional EOD Division Manager, Hon. Danilo Diaz, IA President, along with the officers and members, and Engr. Pierre Anthony Joven City Agriculturist from Butuan City Agriculture Office were present during the ceremony.
